Manufacturer's Description
Kärcher K5.700 T300
The K5.700 T300 forms part of Kärcher’s high performance X series range, and is one of the most advanced consumer pressure washers ever. Combining power and energy efficiency, it is equipped with an innovative water-cooled induction motor for enhanced performance and longer life. This unit also includes the new detergent Plug ; Clean system for quick and convenient detergent changeovers, and the Quick Connect release on both ends of the hose which eliminates kinks and reduces set up times. An impact-resistant recyclable plastic casing and fine mesh water filter prevent dirt particles from damaging the motor and three-piston axial-flow pump, whilst a safety valve prevents pressure overload. A pressure switch control switches the motor on and off when the ergonomically-designed trigger gun is pressed and released. The K 5.700 T300 is ideal for cleaning large vehicles, patios, decking, motorbikes, stone walls and barbecues.
Features
Included are the T300 T-racer surface cleaner which is ideal for faster, splash-free cleaning of large areas like patios and decking, a variable pressure spray lance which allows pressure control with a single turn, as well as the dirtblaster lance which provides up to 50% greater cleaning power than a standard high pressure lance.
Water-cooled induction motor
Water-cooled induction motors give enhanced performance and longer life whilst using less energy. Water cooling is a very efficient method of transferring heat away from the motor, and water-cooled motors provide high power output per unit of weight. K3-K5 models are up to 11% lighter than conventional machines with air-cooled motors, resulting in significantly better mobility. In comparison to air-cooled motors with the same capacity, they also save up to 5% energy as there is no need for the fan.
Quick Connect
The Quick Connect system eliminates hose kinking and thereby reduces set-up time. The high pressure hose can be connected to the trigger gun and machine, and can be released again at the touch of a button, making it quicker and easier to stow.
Plug ; Clean detergent system
Using task-specific detergents whilst cleaning have been shown to improve the end result, and the Kärcher Plug ; Clean system is a quick and easy way to effectively incorporate them with your pressure washer. With no separate tank required, simply plug your chosen detergent into the clearly visible, in-built chamber and allow the intuitive system to recognize when to feed cleaning fluids into the water flow for you. There are 6 Plug ; Clean detergents available:

Customer Reviews
The pressure washer is supplied with some parts such as wheels and hose reel which have to be assembled by the customer. Most were easy to fit but one proved very obstinate: total time to assemble 1.5 hours.
I chose a powerful model to make light work of cleaning chores and the K5.700 does not disappoint in this, being at least as powerful as my previous model a K650MB (which looks similar to the current K555). The hose is longer than before and this makes cleaning all round the car easier, as one does not need to repeatedly move the machine. However being tall, with the hose reel located on the top, it is easily pulled over and this may damage it. The hose reel seems flimsy, stiff to retract and the reel handle usually falls off when used.
The T300 attachment is quick and easy to use, makes less mess than the lances and is much less tiring. However it only half-cleaned paving stones, which then had to be re-cleaned with a lance. It may be more effective on smoother materials than paving slabs.
The dirt blaster lance is the fastest tool for cleaning paving and very effective on heavily grimed materials, but it is tiring to hold with its pulsating action and tends to dig out mortar joints. The normal lance is the best general purpose tool.
All previous Karcher pressure pumps I have used have had a refillable detergent bottle which one can fill with car shampoo when washing cars or other cleaning agents for paving etc. The K5.700 has a Plug 'n' Clean bottle which is not refillable. Karcher also advise against trying to open these. These one litre bottles cost about £9 each and will wash the car twice, or about £4-5 per car wash. Whereas shampoo in 5 litre canisters or in dissolving tab form cost 20-50p per wash. This makes this machine expensive to use and one could easily spend more on the detergent than on the machine.
I would not choose this model again but would choose one whose detergent bottle is refillable, which is more stable and with a hose reel that is more robust. This may possibly be the K555
I found the assembly to be fairly straightforward although certain parts needed a light hammer and block of wood to help tap them into position.
Although I have not used it in real earnest as yet (waiting for spring to arrive) I have tested it in small areas on the front drive and for washing the car at minimum pressure setting and I am confident it will perform OK.
I owned a Bosch unit before which did a very good job in cleaning paviors but this seems much more powerful and I am sure will do the work in less time.
I have given it 3 stars for two reasons. Firstly, I don't like the idea of closed containers for the cleaning fluid as another poster has commented. Secondly, the hose reel handle is an absolute joke - it's very flimsy, doesn't locate properly in the reel and just doesn't work . It is one of the worst pieces of engineering I have seen and I am amazed it got through the product reviews whilst under development at Karcher.
